National Small Business Week

Did you know that this week is National Small Business Week? At Consigning Women & Men, we are proud small business owners and to learn a bit more, we did some digging to find out what small businesses do for our community, and our country.

Here's what we found:

Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners.

More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year!

A stunning 99.7 percent of all American businesses are small businesses. And no fewer than 57 million Americans work for small businesses – nearly half of all private-sector jobs in the United States.

Not only do small businesses bring growth to their community, local businesses owners truly know their customers. They are passionate about their neighborhood and want to see it survive and thrive.

Whether you are a small business owner, work for a small business or shop at small businesses, please show your support for small businesses by getting the word out about National Small Business Week. Share a post on social media, dedicate a blog post (like we did!), or send out a special email.
